Banks Don't Want Cannabis Cash and Neither Do Charities

While brewers in Colorado regularly donate to charities, it’s not so easy for cannabis companies to do the same.  According to the Coloradoan, part of USA Today:

Seven percent of Fort Collins nonprofits that responded to a Colorado Nonprofit Association Survey said they received a donation from the marijuana industry in 2015. The percentage was consistent with nonprofits across the state. Nearly 70 percent told the association they would accept such a donation.

The article details how Team Fort Collins, which has been providing alcohol and drug prevention services to the Fort Collins community since 1989, works with cannabis companies Infinite Wellness and Organic Alternatives.   The organization takes extra precautions to segregate the money from its general funds.
