VolteFace Senior Editor Steve Moore recently described Canadian Dan Sutton, Managing Director of Tantalus Labs, as “a stand out contributor from the business community” at the Cannabis Science and Policy Summit, a conference that took place at New York University in April.

Fast talking, fabulously articulate and impassioned about sun-grown medical cannabis, his manic energy and hyper sociability mark him out as future star of this new industry

In a follow-up, the magazine interviewed Sutton, who entered the industry in 2012 after having previously worked for a nuclear fuel design company.  Tantalus Labs, which is in the process of attaining a cultivation license in Canada, has designed a closed system greenhouse that takes advantage of natural sunlight and that aims to provide top quality cannabis that is not only sustainably produced but also has a low production cost. Sutton anticipates that the industry will migrate towards sungrown cannabis due to environmental concerns.
