FOX 32 News in Chicago reports that 8 dispensaries in Illinois will open today, November 9th, after receiving final approval from the state on Friday. One of the first to open will be The Clinic Mundelein, which is a venture between Colorado’s The Clinic and Green Thumb Industries, which owns cultivation licenses for its facilities in Rock Island and Oglesby.
Ben Kovler with The Clinic Mundelein said they’ve been getting shipments all weekend long from their own cultivation center in Rock Island and another in Albion, Ill. Deliveries are dropped off securely in a police-style “sallyport” and the first deliveries came with a police escort.
The dispensaries are receiving shipments every day and Kovler said they expect another 10 to 20 pounds of product later this week. He said they expect to receive edibles and oils in the next few weeks.
