Shark Tank Judges Pass on Investing in Cannabis

For any of you cannabis entrepreneurs watching ABC’s Shark Tank and dreaming of pitching your cannabiz, don’t bet on it.  Entrepreneur Magazine’s Kim Lachance Shandrow interviewed five of the reality show’s judges last week, and none of them are interested in investing in the industry despite an awareness of the opportunity.

Kevin O’Leary fears that investing could lead to potential incarceration under RICO laws and prefers to wait until cannabis is federally legal. Realtor Barbara Corcoran wants one of the companies in which she invests to enter the industry, but stigma issues are getting in the way. Robert Herjavec thinks it’s too late! Mark Cuban also believes that the industry may be getting too mature and that it is too complex due to banking and regulatory issues. Lori Greiner seemed to be open-minded but said she has too many investments already.
