Windy City Weed: Chicago's First Medical Cannabis Dispensary Opens

Dispensary 33

Dispensary 33 opened its doors today, making history as the first location in the city of Chicago where one could purchase cannabis legally (with a medical cannabis card issued by the state).  Located at 5001 North Clark,  the dispensary received its final license on November 19th.  Owners Zach Zises and Paul Lee were interviewed last month on WGN radio that inspired listeners to literally pull over to the side of the road to call in.  Zises handles the financial and compliance aspects of the business, while Lee manages the operations, deals with patients and handles product selection.  The Chicago Sun-Times provided some details on the dispensary, which it said looked like an Apple store. For now, it is selling only dried flower provided by Nature’s Grace and Wellness in Vermont, Illinois, but it will begin to offer edibles and extracts in early 2016.
