ABcann Adapts Space Technology for Cannabis Industry

CESRF-hypobaric

Vice’s Motherboard explored how Canadian botanists are focusing on cannabis, featuring Professor Mike Dixon, who is working with Canadian LP ABcann to produce consistent cannabis using technology. The company’s method of production includes sealed chambers that control light, water, carbon dioxide, temperature, humidity and nutrients.

Dixon, in collaboration with ABcann, is performing research at the University of Guelph, in order to “raise the status of cannabis to its rightful place in medical science.” The work is being done at the university’s Controlled Environment Systems Research Facility. Dixon is excited about the prospects of Canada becoming a global leader in cannabis research.

Standardizing the product will help it achieve the status of a conventional pharmaceutical commodity that a doctor can rely on and prescribe.
