Aphria Prepares to Introduce Branding for the Legal Cannabis Market

Vic Neufeld Aphria

CBC interviewed Aphria (TSXV:APH) CEO Vic Neufeld about the company’s plans as Canada prepares to legalize cannabis beyond its current medical program, MMPR.  The company recently locked up access to land and buildings that will enable a substantial expansion of its current facility. Neufeld expects that only a small part of the market will be produced by home growers.

Aphria will have separate branding to address the broader legal market, hoping to appeal to millennials. Neufeld reports that the company will soon decide on new packaging and color schemes that differ from its current medical products.  Neufeld describes the market potential as $5 billion, which dwarfs the current medical cannabis market potential that he sees as $1 billion.
