Canadian Cannabis Company ABcann Vying for Hawaiian MMJ License

There is little doubt that the highly regulated Canadian medical cannabis market is spawning interest in other geographies that are building medical cannabis programs.  The most recent example is in Hawaii, where an applicant for one of the eight licenses, the Wellness Group, has teamed up with Ontario-based ABcann, which was the most recent licensed producer to earn the ability to sell to patients. ABcann is committed to an organic, standardized and verified plant-growth process. The Wellness Group team includes former Honolulu Mayor Peter Carlisle as an investor, and Carlisle suggests that the partnership will bring pharmaceutical grade medical cannabis to Hawaii and enable the Wellness Group to conduct cannabis research.
