Colorado-based startup KushMoji, which is supported by marketing company Cannabrand and technology company Betakillers, is using the popular communication tool emojis to help address marketing challenges that cannabis companies face due to their inability to advertise. The business model initially is based upon monthly subscription fees from companies to have their branding and products integrated into KushMoji, with expected fees ranging from $2-3K per month. The company is currently in beta and not yet charging its customers, some of which include Incredibles, Livwell, Mary Jane’s Medicinals and Medicine Man.
