DeepCell Industries Secures Licensing Deal with Evergreen Herbal for Cannabis Ingredients

Licenses technology to producers in Washington State, California

December 13, 2016

SEATTLE–(BUSINESS WIRE)–DeepCell Industries™, an emerging technology development company focusing on material science, microfluidics and cannabinoid molecule discoveries, has announced a new licensing agreement with Evergreen Herbal™. The licensed cannabis producer-processor plans to manufacture and distribute DeepCell’s Ruby Cannabis Sugar™ and Sapphire Cannabis Salt™ throughout Washington State.

Our intellectual property licensing agreement creates a unique structure that allows cannabis companies to incorporate new technologies into their businesses without the expense of research and development. By focusing on sugar and salt, the world’s most widely used ingredients, we’ve simplified the process for businesses to innovate.

Kelly OgilvieKelly Ogilvie, CEO of DeepCell

Evergreen Herbal is a leader in the Washington State adult-use recreational cannabis industry and is the licensed cannabis producer-processor and manufacturer of established brands including 4.20 Bars, High Tea and Cannabis Quenchers.

“We are proud to partner with DeepCell, as their company is driving the leading edge of possibility in the cannabis edibles market,” said Marco Hoffman, CEO and founder of Evergreen Herbal. “The addition of Ruby to our production line is a natural decision for our company. With just two ingredients; cannabis extract and sugar, Ruby is an exceptionally versatile and desirable product for both individual consumers and wholesale customers.”

Ruby and Sapphire represent DeepCell’s commitment to quality and innovation, moving beyond the restrictions of traditional fat-based cannabis edibles. Using the company’s patent pending Crystal Fusion™ technology to create a water-soluble product, the fusion process provides customers with a clean-tasting, flavor-neutral ingredient base to substitute for traditional sugar and salt.

“The addition of California to the states with legal adult-use cannabis laws is a game changer for the industry,” said Ogilvie. “We are proud to announce that a pilot license agreement has been finalized with a local producer there.”

DeepCell anticipates California distribution with their pilot licensee in early 2017. The company will debut their next products, Sapphire Cannabis Salt™ and Emerald CBD Sugar™, throughout Washington State and California in 2017.
