Edward Fields, CEO
Prior to joining the cannabis industry, Mr. Fields spent more than 20 years developing and marketing educational technology and enterprise software solutions. He was Director of Interactive Publishing at The Learning Company, an educational software company. He served as President and Chief Executive Officer of ProductFactory, Inc., a software firm, and as Senior Vice President of Marketing at Agile Software Corporation, a provider of product lifecycle management. After Agile Software, Mr. Fields founded HotChalk, Inc. in 2004 with a vision of improving education outcomes, providing access to education for everyone everywhere, and building the largest online education community in the world.
Mr. Fields grew the business to 463 employees while navigating the complexities of the highly regulated Title IV higher education industry. He left HotChalk at the end of 2016 to pursue opportunities in cannabis. During his tenure at HotChalk, in addition to serving as HotChalk’s Board Chair, Mr. Fields served as a Board Member at the Center for Education Reform (CER) from September 2012 through June 2016. CER is the pioneer and leading advocate for structural and sustainable changes that can dramatically improve educational opportunities in the U.S.
Michelle Sitton, CMO
Michelle Sitton is the Chief Marketing Officer for DYME Brands, Inc., a multi-state cannabis brands and distribution platform, supporting cultivators, manufacturers and award-winning brands in the medical and adult-use cannabis markets. Leveraging over 20 years of strategic marketing and brand development experience for cannabis and natural products, she leads their brand-building, product development and go-to market strategy during this watershed moment in the industry.
Prior to this role, Michelle served as the Head of Brand and Marketing at Curaleaf, Inc., a leading vertically integrated cannabis operator in the United States, where she created five cannabis brands from strategy through launch. She previously spent several years in brand management at Nestlè US, winning a Global Innovation award for her work at PowerBar. She has also held several marketing strategist positions for startups, served as Director of Marketing for several food brands, and has worked with multiple clients in the food/wine and social impact industry in her role as Founder and CEO of Blue Parrot Marketing.
Outside of DYME, Michelle’s other passion is empowering her fellow female entrepreneurs. She is an active angel investor and member of SheEO, a global community of women radically transforming how we finance, support, and celebrate female innovators. Most recently, she worked on microfinance programs in Kenya providing solar lamps and rainwater tanks to rural farmers, and on supporting women’s collaboratives in Ghana through importing wellness products to the US. She is also an active member of Women Grow, a national for-profit entity whose mission is to serve as a catalyst for women to influence and succeed in cannabis.
Pete Hilliard, COO
Mr. Hilliard is the Chief Operating Officer of DionyMed Brands, Inc. Starting his career in the hospitality industry, Mr. Hilliard held various operational roles including VP HR Western US for Boston Market Restaurants during its growth from 350 to over 1,000 stores. He served as VP of HR with SiteSmith, Inc., a technology professional services company as it grew from $0 to $30M in revenue and from 20 to 500 employees worldwide in just nine months culminating in its acquisition by MetroMedia Fiber Network (MFN) with a $1.3B valuation. Mr. Hilliard then joined MFN as SVP in charge of leading the integration of several acquisitions. From 2002 to 2007, Mr. Hilliard served as SVP, HR and Corporate Services at Agile Software Corporation, leading to its acquisition by Oracle.
In 2007 Mr. Hilliard co-founded and served as President of ModSquad, Inc., a professional services provider to digital companies and continued on the board until 2013. In 2008 he joined Harmonic, Inc. as SVP, HR where he also led the successful acquisition of several companies. Following Harmonic, Mr. Hilliard was Chief Administrative Officer of Silicon Graphics International (SGI), a manufacturer of computer hardware and software, culminating in SGI’s acquisition by Hewlett Packard Enterprise. Following SGI and prior to joining DionyMed, Mr. Hilliard served as Chief People Officer at Quantenna Communications, Inc., a provider of high-performance Wi-Fi solutions.
Peter Kampian, CFO
Mr. Kampian is the Chief Financial Officer of DionyMed Brands, Inc. Mr. Kampian, CPA, CA, has a long track record as a financial executive with a number of Canadian public companies. Mr. Kampian was the Chief Financial Officer of Mettrum Health Corp., an early entrant to the Canadian cannabis market, where Mr. Kampian was a key member who took the company public on the TSX-V (MT.V). Mettrum was acquired by Canopy Growth Corp in 2017.
Mr. Kampian previously served as Chief Financial Officer of Algonquin Income Fund, a power producer and an infrastructure company across North America, where he led and supported debt and equity capital raising. Mr. Kampian is also a board member of Red Pine Exploration Inc (RPX.V), a mining exploration company, and James E Wagner Cultivation Corporation (JWCA.V), a Canadian cannabis cultivator.
Mr. Kampian has also held a board position with CannaRoyalty Corp (CRZ.CN). He has also been involved with startup businesses in renewable energy including U.S.-based Threshold Power Trust (as Chief Financial Officer from 2012 to 2013), Riverbank Power Corporation (as Chief Operating Officer from 2011 to 2012) and Oneworld Energy Corporation (as Chief Financial Officer from 2009 to 2011).
