John Lord, one of Colorado’s leading cannabis entrepreneurs, has rebranded LivWell Cannabis as LivWell Enlightened Health following the acquisition of two stores in Denver and a grow from iVita.  Lord expects to make more acquisitions, to expand further into Colorado beyond Denver and to extend into Oregon.

Lord offered some insight into his roll-up strategy, suggesting that compliance is an exhausting effort for many smaller operators.  He includes a team of 40 full-time employees charged with that task.

It’s not so much competition causing consolidation, but I feel that it’s actually more driven by the weight of compliance.
