CNBC Anchor Recognizes Cannabis Industry Investment Opportunities

Amanda Drury is co-anchor of CNBC’s “Power Lunch” and is also host of the popular CNBC segment “Power Pitch.”  She recently moderated a panel discussion between Dooma Wendschuh of ebbu and Brendan Kennedy of Privateer Holdings at the Cannabis Private Investment Summit organized by Kahner Global in New York City earlier this month.

She shares her perceptions of the event:

This was a room full of professional suits. On the one side, there were private family offices and high net worth investors potentially wanting to latch on to the exploding legal cannabis industry. On the other side, individuals with established cannabis-related companies pitching their products or services, informing and educating everyone about the opportunities in the space.

Drury describes in detail the panel that she moderated and also mentions a pitch by HelloMD, which enables patients to use video conferencing to procure a medical recommendation for cannabis. She concludes that the industry is coming of age, but she also recognizes that there are many risks to investing.
