Greenhouse Ventures Launches on the East Coast to Help Cannabis Startups

As cannabis business accelerator Canopy Boulder prepares to expand its operations to California and new accelerator Gateway commences operations in Oakland, Greenhouse Ventures will host a Demo Day in Philadelphia later this week. These companies help startups in the industry get going by providing capital, mentorship and other services.

Billed as a day dedicated to the “cannabis,” the Philly startup will be offering insights into best practices for the marijuana industry – everything from financials, tech and e-commerce to vertical sales designed to help build budding businesses. Companies will also have the opportunity to exhibit their products and services and pitch to investors while learning the ropes on how to build a sustainable business model.

Greenhouse Ventures (GHV) co-founder Tyler Dautrich says that the startup was developed through a strategic partnership with CoFund360, a company that had already developed a proven curriculum program and a 10-week accelerator model.

GHV takes a stake of about 5% of the startup company in exchange for services provided, with the goal of the entrepreneurs raising outside capital within a year. It includes among its mentors Doug Leighton of Dutchess Capital, Jim Fitzpatrick of Kodiak Capital, Lindy Snider of Lindi Skin, Scott Berman of Cannabis Rep Network and Jazmin Hupp of Women Grow.
