Illinois Cannabis Sales Surge in December

Illinois adult-use cannabis sales of $143.9 million in December, with one more day than November, increased 10.3% sequentially and increased 4.4% from a year ago:

2021 adult-use sales of $1.38 billion increased 106% from 2020 in Illinois, and 2022 sales of $1.55 billion increased 12.6% in 2022. During December, sales to non-residents decreased from 30.1% in November to 28.8% of total sales:

The state separately releases sales from its medical program, which showed that they were up 11.4% sequentially in December at $31.4 million. This was down 11.3% from a year ago:

Total cannabis sales were a record $175.3 million, which was up 10.5% sequentially and up 1.1% from a year ago.

During 2022, total sales were $1.91 billion, up 7% from 2021. In 2021, combined cannabis sales grew 72% for the full year.
