Whistler Introduces High CBG Cannabis Oil

Whistler Medical Marijuana Corporation (WMMC), a Certified Organic Licensed Producer of Medical Cannabis, Today Announced the Release of Canada’s First High Cannabigerol (CBG) Cannabis Oil

WHISTLER, BC–(Marketwired – September 27, 2016) – The release follows two years of research identifying the best medical phenotypes from the diverse seed bank at WMMC. The process identified a unique phenotype containing significant amounts of both THC and CBG at maturity which now forms the starting material for their High CBG oil.
Cannabigerol (CBG) is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid which is currently being investigated for a multitude of medical properties. Whilst not as well studied as THC or CBD, initial research suggests it may have a wide range of medical benefits. Director of medical research at WMMC, Brishna Kamal, comments “Basic research has indicated that CBG exerts a variety of effects in cell culture and animal models including acting as an anti-inflammatory, analgesic and anti-fungal. It is currently being investigated for a possible treatment for many disorders including cancer, glaucoma, inflammatory bowel disease, different types of pain, and even neurodegenerative diseases such as Huntington’s.”

Containing both THC and CBG in an approximately 3:2 ratio, WMMCs High CBG Oil will be exclusively available to registered patients of the company. Through the release, WMMC aim to gather information from patients about what conditions CBG can effectively treat which will direct further research into the properties of CBG. Patients who purchase High CBG oil are invited to complete a short survey on its effectiveness and receive a $40 credit towards further oil purchases.

WMMC’s chief science officer and creator of their cannabis oil program, Daniel Lantela, commented “Our CBG oil is a first among licensed producers in Canada and places Whistler Medical Marijuana as a pioneer in the medical cannabis landscape. We are dedicated to unlocking the full potential of the cannabis plant for all patients in medicinal need, and this goes far beyond just THC and CBD. We are extremely excited to offer CBG to our patients and hope it will widen the number of conditions we can provide relief for.”

About Whistler Medical Marijuana Corp Cannabis Oils

Currently offering twelve strain specific cannabis oils, the largest selection in Canada, WMMC produces their products without the use of any volatile solvents such as alcohol, butane or CO2. Their oils are created by physically separating plant material from the cannabis resin, which is then infused into organic coconut and olive oils. Created from fresh frozen cannabis using an innovative process which retains the terpenes from the live plant, WMMC’s products retain the unique medical benefits or “entourage effect” produced by each strain’s unique mixture of cannabinoids and terpenes.

About Whistler Medical Marijuana Corp.

Operating since 2014, WMMC provides both dried marijuana and cannabis oils to registered patients through Health Canada’s Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulations (formerly the Marihuana for Medical Purposes Regulations). In addition to being one of the country’s first Licensed Producers of Cannabis, WMMC is the only 100% certified organic producer in Canada, as certified by the Fraser Valley Organic Producers Association. Using potency profiling, an info-graphic displaying the amounts of cannabinoids and terpenes present in each product, they are a leader in providing full analysis of all their products to assist patients and doctors in understanding the properties of each strain.
