Canopy Growth CEO Sees Transition Period to New Cannabis Distribution Models

While there are high expectations that Canada will adopt legal cannabis for adult use, it is unclear how the program will develop.  On its Q2 conference call today, Canopy Growth’s CEO, Bruce Linton, shared his view that the new system would likely be similar to the current medical cannabis program, with delivery only, and then evolve towards a broader distribution.

If the feds wish to have limited recreational access by way of direct courier, and then evolve it into presentation into LCBOs or SAQs or wherever, that could be something that could happen, and certainly we are actively, actively advocating that kind of first step.
