Snoop Dogg Crosses the Border to Cut First Deal With a Publicly Traded Cannabis Company

Snoop Dogg Tweed

Legalization for adult-use of cannabis is coming to Canada, and Snoop Dogg is looking to capitalize.  Fresh off of the launch of his brand Leafs By Snoop in Colorado as well as his media property Merry Jane, the rapper has inked a deal with Canada’s leading medical cannabis producer, Tweed, which is part of Canopy Growth (TSXV: CGC).  No details were provided except that Tweed will pay a combination of cash and stock in exchange for exclusive rights to use certain content and brands owned by the rapper’s company, LBC Holdings, for a minimum of three years.

Tweed continues to attract canna-celebrities, as this deal follows their partnership with DNA Genetics announced late last year. The company also sponsored the High Times Cannabis Cup in Jamaica in November.
