The Cannabis Industry is Hiring and 10 Stories from New Cannabis Ventures

This is a copy of the May 27th edition of our weekly Newsletter, which we have been publishing since October, 2015.

Friends,

This mission of New Cannabis Ventures has always been to connect all who seek to contribute to the success of the industry. One of the most interesting dynamics has been the influx of professionals into the industry as new, rapidly growing companies have hired as they expand. As stigma erodes and the opportunity becomes clearer, the industry is seeing many professionals from the alcohol, tobacco, pharmaceutical, consumer packaging industries and more bring their talents into the fold.

There are just a few cannabis-focused human resource firms helping to bring this new talent into the industry. One of the ones we have written about extensively is Vangst Talent. Many companies use traditional online sources, like Indeed or LinkedIn, to find talent as well. For the most part, the fragmentation is still great, with many people looking for jobs but not sure how to identify companies with the most growth.

With the recent launch of the NCV Cannabis Industry Careers and Jobs page, vetted companies that have large hiring needs are listed, allowing our readers to connect directly with each company’s dedicated careers page. To be clear, this is not traditional a jobs board. Instead, readers can easily discover promising companies that are hiring and that may be of interest to them. Carrie Pallardy recently profiled some very interesting positions that have been offered. New Cannabis Ventures will be profiling new opportunities as they come available going forward.

Some of our readers may be interested in exclusive positions with a leading cannabis-focused private equity firm. Our friends at Merida Capital are hiring to expand their investment team. The company has posted job descriptions for 2 Managing Directors for its New York or California offices and up to 3 Analysts working its NYC office.
